Dr. Krystal Drwencke DC

Doctor of Chiropractic | Founder of Ascent Sports Rehab & Performance | Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner | Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner

Dr. Krystal Drwencke is the founder of Ascent, bringing 16 years of clinical experience,  including work across four different clinics, to her approach as a doctor of chiropractic.

While Dr. Krystal had always valued chiropractic care as part of a healthy lifestyle, her clinical focus shifted dramatically after a car accident in 2014 left her with severe whiplash, shoulder injuries, and daily headaches. It took two years before she was able to return to weightlifting, and in 2017 she competed in her first weightlifting competition. Through her own recovery, she discovered firsthand how chiropractic care, combined with myofascial work and exercise, could heal even the most intense injuries. This experience fundamentally shaped how she approaches patient care today.

Dr. Krystal treats a wide range of chronic, acute, traumatic, and degenerative injuries. She assesses each patient thoroughly and builds an individualized plan to get them moving in a positive direction.

Founding Ascent in 2018 allowed Dr. Krystal to build the kind of practice she wished she’d had during her own recovery: one centered on patient education, individualized care, and long-term movement health, not just symptom relief. Outside the clinic, she enjoys weightlifting, live music, and traveling.

Dr. Krystal earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University. Her own journey through injury and recovery continues to inform her patient-centered, movement-focused approach to care.

Dr. Tracy Yu DC

Doctor of Chiropractic l Sports Specialist

Dr. Tracy Yu is a San Francisco native, lifelong athlete, and doctor of chiropractic with a passion for helping people move well, stay active, and continue doing the activities they love.

Basketball has been a major part of Dr. Tracy’s life and ultimately helped shape the clinician she is today. After experiencing multiple injuries while playing basketball, she became interested not only in recovering from injury, but in understanding why injuries happen, how the body adapts, and what it takes to return to sport stronger and more resilient. She has had multiple ankle sprains and suffered a broken hand where she learned to appreciate the importance of proper rehabilitation, injury prevention, and a gradual return to sport. These experiences have shaped her approach to treating active individuals, giving her a firsthand understanding of the physical and mental challenges that come with injury and recovery.

Today, Dr. Tracy brings that athlete-centered perspective into her patient care. She combines chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques including Active Release Technique, and individualized rehabilitation to help patients reduce pain, restore movement, and build long-term physical resilience.

Her goal extends beyond getting someone out of pain. Dr. Tracy works with patients to improve strength and movement, reduce the risk of future injury, enhance sports performance, and support longevity in the activities and sports that matter to them. Her customized care plans emphasize patient education, injury prevention, and movement optimization so patients understand their bodies and have the tools to stay active well beyond the treatment room.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Tracy practices what she preaches. She enjoys weightlifting, hiking, playing basketball, traveling, photography, football, sneakers, and exploring Bay Area coffee shops.

Dr. Tracy earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences. Her background in psychology, combined with her own experiences as an injured athlete, contributes to her individualized approach to chiropractic care, rehabilitation, and human performance.
